The Good Stuff Carbon Labeling x Klimato

We like looking after people; it’s kind of our thing. And since there’s no point looking after people if you’re not trying to look after the planet too, we came up with The Good Stuff: aka all the ways we can do things right here at Hox.

The Good Stuff covers everything from ditching single-use plastic to tracking food waste to meaningfully supporting awesome community projects – and our Klimato labels are just one of the ways we’re getting greener in the kitchen.

In short, the labels rate each dish’s carbon footprint from A to E (based on internationally approved climate goals) so it’s both way easier for us to see the impact, and for you guys to have all the eco info you need. The lower the emissions, the better the rating: simple.

The Klimato labels provide two main pieces of information: the total CO2e emissions per serving (kg CO2e/serving) and a rating (A-E) based on the carbon intensity, which is the carbon footprint (CF) of a standardised 400g meal. This makes it possible to compare servings of different sizes fairly.

Very Low (A): < 0.40 kg CO2e
Low (B): 0.40 – 0.90 kg CO2e
Medium (C): 0.90 – 1.80 kg CO2e
High (D): 1.80 – 2.60 kg CO2e
Very High (E): > 2.60 kg CO2e

Got a Good Idea?

Listening matters; and so does our community. Tell us how you think we could do better – we’ll hang onto every word. Any feedback or tips you give will go directly to our Brand COO, Rob, for monthly review; so you can be sure we’re paying super-close attention. Better still, we’ll roll out the best ideas globally, and tell the world it came from you.
