Barcelona’s burger scene has always been top-notch, but things got even better with our recent collaboration with Fast Eddie’s, the city’s top hamburger joint. Known for crafting the best burgers in Barcelona, we nearly died and went to heaven when Eddie brought his mouthwatering popcorn chicken to Four Corners at The Hoxton last summer. Here, Eddie shares his insider picks for the best burgers across the city, giving you a guide to Barcelona’s most delectable burger spots.
Henry’s Bar
I love the interior, love the neighbourhood, love the food and most importantly love the owners of this place. It’s run by the lovely couple Sen and Carles, who make you feel at home and give you that authentic family run feeling. The 70s-style interior is insanely on point, from the tables and booths to the vintage American decorations. Gotta love their selection of frozen drinks. Scorching Barcelona summer, frozen margaritas, and classic smash burgers? This is a must visit!
Festin
Run by a group of friends, and situated in Borne – first things first, their bread is phenomenal. They make it in-house and it makes all the difference. As the owner of a burger place, my burger consumption outside of my own establishment isn’ too high. So the fact that this is one of the few burger places I really enjoy is a testament to the quality of their burgers. They have a burger that is so reminiscent of a Big Mac, it’s crazy! And again I repeat! The bread is made in-house! Can’t say that for many places these days.

CompĂ (Barceloneta)
Well it’s not a burger place, but it is a sandwich place – same-same, but different. I couldn’t resist putting this on the list because the focaccia is on point, and all the products (cured meat and cheese) are from Italy. They have delicious spreads and tasty combinations, from meat-heavy to veggie options. There’s a cool atmosphere in the little shop, too, as they call out the names for the people waiting for sandwiches. Being located close to the beach, it’s perfect for getting takeaway and eating right on the waterfront. It’s a bangin’ sandwich.
Bar Torpedo
A Barcelona classic, and one of the first to do it right in my humble opinion. You’ll find big juicy, vaca vieja burgers set on soft brioche bread, and you have to try the soft shell crab. They’ve been doing it for years and it’s not something you see in a sandwich in a lot of places here in Barcelona. Wash it down with something from their extensive natural wine menu.
TGB
I’ve never been a huge fan of large burger chains, but sometimes they’re a necessary evil and can save you in tricky situations. By tricky I mean slightly intoxicated or hungover. If for whatever reason you find yourself craving a McDonald’s, these guys do the chain experience way better. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still commercial and slightly industrial, but there’s something about it that gives you that feeling that maybe it’s what McDonald’s was like in between first starting and becoming the global behemoth that it is now. It’s fast, consistent and really is good for a hangover.
