As we know, the planet needs us to do better. Good Actions is how we do our bit and become a more responsible, sustainable brand. Here, we’re putting all our goals out into the wild so that anyone – we mean anyone – can hold us accountable. Below you’ll find a set of commitments at The Hox, all geared to work towards being a greener neighbour, both locally and globally.

Plastics
Now: Replacing single use plastic items with reusable or lower impact alternatives in our hotel rooms, restaurants, back of house and The Hox Shop.
By 2025: All single-use plastic will be banned from The Hoxtons worldwide
In future: Install water taps in public spaces for guests to top up their refillable.
Carbon and Water
Now: Recording and monitoring monthly water consumption, with the goal of reducing our water usage by 4% vs 2024.
By 2024: Annual independent surveys at each hotel to review equipment usage and operational practice to minimise environmental impact.
In future: Continue with our commitment to contributing to a net-zero world by 2050 and reducing our water consumption.
Eco-Certification
Now: Each of The Hoxton properties open for more than one year holds a prestigious Green Key/Green Key Global certification.
Certified hotels: Amsterdam (Herengracht + Lloyd), Brussels, Berlin (Charlottenburg), Chicago, London (Holborn, Shepherd’s Bush, Shoreditch, Southwark), Los Angeles, Paris, Barcelona (Poblenou), Portland, Rome and Williamsburg.
Our newest hotels: Vienna is working towards certification; Florence and Edinburgh will begin working towards certification once they’ve been open for a year.
In future: All hotels to consistently work on improving their high environmental standards and maintaining their Green Key/Green Key Global certification status.
Food and Beverage Sustainability
Now: Eleven of The Hoxton properties have established a food waste baseline, and in 2025 these hotels are aiming to reduce the quantity of food they waste by 10% vs 2024.
By 2024: Target hotels to reduce food waste by 25%
In future: We are committed to reducing our food waste by 60% by 2030, reducing the carbon impact of our menus and implementing new sustainable food policies across our restaurants.

Whether it’s while bouncing around for business, on a continental city hop, or exploring America’s West Coast, The Good Rate is a small thank you for choosing to get to us by rail. We know that is isn’t always possible to travel more sustainably, but this is our way of encouraging guests to choose lower-carbon transport.

For anyone embarking on a multi-Hox trip in Europe and travelling by train, we’ll take ÂŁ20/20€ off the stay in each location, while guests in the US will receive $20 off for swinging by one Hoxton by rail.

We get that there’s a long way to go before things really move the needle for climate change, but we also believe all the small choices matter. All change please.
