As we know, the planet needs us to do better. Good Actions is how we do our bit and become a more responsible, sustainable brand. Here, we’re putting all our goals out into the wild so that anyone – we mean anyone – can hold us accountable. Below you’ll find a set of commitments at The Hox, all geared to work towards being a greener neighbour, both locally and globally.

Circularity
Now: Our Sustainability Team have identified 63 items that must be removed or replaced with a lower impact alternative across our hotel rooms, restaurants, front and back of house. 18/19 hotels have successfully achieved this.
Now: Chicago, Florence and Williamsburg have water refill stations in public spaces, with the aim of reducing waste from single-use water bottles.
Now: Amsterdam, Brussels, Charlottenburg's water bottle suppliers use a circular closed-loop system, where empty bottles are collected, washed, refilled and redistributed!
By the end of 2026: With the aim of reducing waste from single-use water bottles in mind, all hotels will either install water refill stations or work with a supplier offering a closed-loop system.
Carbon and Water
Now: Recording and monitoring our monthly water consumption, with goal of reducing our water intensity (L/occupied rooms) by 2.3% vs. 2025.
Now: Recording and monitoring our energy consumption, with the goal of reducing our energy intensity (kWh/surface area) by 7% vs. 2023 baseline.
By the end of 2026: Hotels that were open before January 2025 will hold certificates that attribute that their electricity has come from renewable sources.
Eco-Certification
Now: 16 of our hotels* hold a Green Key or Green Key Global (US-based scheme) certificate.
*Certified Hotels: Amsterdam, Brussels, Charlottenburg, Chicago, Florence, Holborn, Lloyd, Los Angeles, Paris, Poblenou, Portland, Rome, Shepherds Bush, Shoreditch, Southwark, Williamsburg.
Our newest Hoxtons: Dublin, Edinburgh and Vienna are working towards being Green Key certified by the end of 2026.
By 2030: All of our hotels to hold and maintain their Green Key or Green Key Global certification.
Food and Beverage Sustainability
Now: 13/19 Hoxs are consistently measuring their food waste.
Now: The 13 Hoxs that are consistently measuring their food waste are either targeted to reduce their food waste by –10% vs. their 2025 food waste ratio, or they expected to maintain their food waste ratio, as their 2025 food waste ratio was already matching the long-term 2030 target.
Now: Holborn, Poblenou, Shepherds Bush and Southwark partner with Klimato to measure the carbon impact of their menus.
By the end of 2026: Dublin, Edinburgh and Florence to begin measuring their food waste so they can have reduction or maintenance targets in 2027.
We are committed to reducing our food waste by 60% by 2030.

Whether it’s while bouncing around for business, on a continental city hop, or exploring America’s West Coast, The Good Rate is a small thank you for choosing to get to us by rail. We know that is isn’t always possible to travel more sustainably, but this is our way of encouraging guests to choose lower-carbon transport.

For anyone embarking on a multi-Hox trip in Europe and travelling by train, we’ll take ÂŁ20/20€ off the stay in each location, while guests in the US will receive $20 off for swinging by one Hoxton by rail.

We get that there’s a long way to go before things really move the needle for climate change, but we also believe all the small choices matter. All change please.
