The way it was
With somewhat of a turmoiled past, Shoreditch has seen it all. Shakespeare showed his plays here, the furniture industry thrived, and music halls competed with the West End. By the end of the 19th Century, the area was synonymous with crime and poverty but fast-forward a few years and it’s a different story. Along came the Nineties, new ideas, the dot-com boom, and Shoreditch today.
