Hox Gallery Opening Party: Aliyah Salmon
Join us in welcoming NYC based textile artist and surface designer Aliyah Salmon to our Hox Gallery. Salmon’s work explores the intersections of beauty, visibility, and the lived experiences of Black women in modern America. Working with traditional hand tufting techniques and an Oxford punch needle, she embraces a slow craft methodology that integrates collage, beadwork, and fabric, extending the legacy of textiles within the Black artistic canon. Swing by to check out her textile collection right next to Reception.Â
Come through for a night of art perusing, passed bites, flowing bevs, and a chance to clink glasses with Aliyah. As always, all works are available for sale with 100% of profits going directly back to the artist.Â
