The Hoxton & Lacoste present Room Service with Michael McGregor

Hold the fries: This September, The Hoxton and Lacoste are flipping the script on room service. We’ve teamed up with Lacoste and LA-based artist Michael McGregor to create a special-edition capsule collection.

Here, McGregor’s unmistakable colourful graphic style brings a playful new perspective to a collection inspired by the rituals and codes that shape a hotel stay.

Across the seven-piece edit, McGregor’s distinctive illustrations capture the small moments that inform the unique rhythm of hotel life. Bold typography and nostalgic nods to check-in, room service and settling in run through the pieces, set against Lacoste’s clean lines and signature green-and-white palette.

We caught up with Michael McGregor in his room at The Hoxton, Paris…

What’s your go-to room service order?

My go-to room service order depends on the time of day, but if it’s after midnight it’s definitely a burger and a Negroni. If it’s the morning, it’s probably a classic French omelette and a bottle of Sancerre.

And maybe a coffee…

You know what, I’ve actually been ordering coffees from room service recently and I’ll order four Americanos and they think that I’m crazy.

At the same time?

Yeah.

What’s something you think every hotel room should have?

I love a desk. I think a desk in a hotel is kind of underrated. At least then I always feel like I can do my work if I need to. It’s easier to draw. I like drawing in bed sometimes, but you need something with weight behind it.

Is there something you always have with you when you travel? It can be weird.

I have a couple of tokens, things in my suitcase, they’re in there right now. One is a crystal a friend of mine gave me like 12 years ago, I also have a little bandana with me that another friend of mine gave me, they’re always gifts.

I’m like…if the plane ever crashes then I will survive.

Where were you when designing this collection?

I did the majority of the work in Greece, mostly in Hydra, and it was about 44 degrees. It was the Roland Garros final last year and I was sitting in my hotel room watching it naked, sweating.

My brother’s wife was going into labour at the same time, so he was texting me from the hospital, and he’s like: “here’s your goddaughter!”. Meanwhile I was sitting there with this horrible wifi trying to upload TIFF files to Dropbox, just sitting there like, “come on!”.

For the ultimate Room Service immersion, The Hoxton is also serving up an in-room dining menu curated by McGregor and inspired by his own go-to favourites. These are the orders that just hit right–every time–featuring cheeseburger and fries, French omelette and the iconic club sandwich. The drinks offering includes classic or mezcal Negronis and, for connoisseurs of the hotel sheets-supper, a glass of Champagne in place of dessert.

Room Service is built around the moments that sit inside a hotel stay, the in-between details that define how it feels. For The Hoxton, it’s a playful take on one of its most familiar touch points. For Lacoste, it offers a fresh expression of its lifestyle vision through the lens of hospitality. For McGregor, it becomes a canvas for layering humour and character onto the language of hospitality.

With Lacoste’s effortlessly elegant silhouettes reimagined through McGregor’s graphics, the edit moves from slow mornings in-room to days spent around the neighbourhood, easy, wearable, and rooted in creativity. Available in unisex sizes XS–XL, with prices starting from £80 / €95 / $120, the collection is designed to be worn beyond the stay, but only ever discovered within it.

Available exclusively across all 19 Hoxton hotels from September 8 until sold out, the limited run drop is accessed via a bespoke room service menu and delivered straight to your door. No web shop, no stockists, checking in is the only way in. The capsule reworks Lacoste’s iconic polo alongside graphic T-shirts, hoodies, men’s and women’s pyjamas, and a bathrobe created exclusively for the collection.

Check-in for the drop.
