SMILE | Hox Gallery
For Bionda Sno, art works best where people already are.
The Amsterdam/London-based curator has spent the past decade finding artists and placing their work in spaces where anyone can walk in and take a look. At The Hoxton, that’s exactly what she’s done again.
SMILE is her latest. Six artists, one expression. The one we use all the time, whether it matches how we feel or not.
Across the works, you’ll see different takes on it. Pink that speaks. Wool that softens, but holds strength. Nature that slows things down. And Lucky, a digital icon that plays with how we show up.
Because Bionda isn’t looking for something that just looks good on a wall. It has to have a point. A reason to exist. SMILE is an invitation to slow down, take a look, and maybe catch yourself smiling back. Even if you didn’t expect to.
Works by Gregory Robert, Alfhild Külper, Anita Jolles, Noor van Spaendonck, Eelco Hilgersom and Corine van Voorbergen.
