When you hear ‘Paris’, you think of the most tourist-packed city in the world. You think ‘The City of Lights’; the Eiffel Tower; loved-up couples taking selfies before beautiful buildings. And it is that. But Paris is also a home for art, culture and music. A truly diverse city, where everybody is free to be, to love, to dance, to laugh, and to smoke!
The best way to understand the beauty of Paris is to explore it like a local. Let yourself wander through the old paved streets, admiring the 19th century Haussmannian buildings and the charming parks bistros and boulangeries. Flaneur about, or grab yourself a Lime or Bird scooter. Day or night, hair in the wind, eyes in the sky!
Start by heading straight to Place de la République, just 5 minutes away from The Hox. It’s rich in history and feels full of life at any time of the day. Grab a power smoothie at République of Coffee then stroll to the Père Lachaise Cemetery. As the final resting place of Jim Morrison, Edith Piaf, Oscar Wilde and Chopin (just to name a few), this spot has a million and one stories to tell. Take a notebook and jot down your thoughts as you lose yourself in its mysterious alleys.
Feeling peckish? Avoid the tourist traps in the centre of the city and instead head to Yard, just a few minutes away. This is a French bistro like no other, serving up the super fresh, seasonally lead food you crave with its daily changing menu. Enjoy a glass of natural wine from Yard Cave, too, while you’re there.
If you want to make it a night to remember, head to La Tête Dans Les Nuages for the ultimate retro redux. It’s a 10-minute walk from The Hox, right on the Grands Boulevards. Grab yourself some tokens and go nuts playing all the nostalgic arcade games. You’ll feel like a big kid.

Find yourself hungover? Head to Le Maris for a kick-arse brunch at Paperboy. It’s not just the Scandi-cool interiors that make this such a unique spot, but also the fun American-Japanese twist they put on their dishes. A special mention goes out to their out-of-this-world sandwiches. Oh, and the staff! The staff are the coolest.
End your afternoon stroll in Merci down the road. A concept store spread across three floors, it stocks a curated selection of antique furniture, designer clothes and funky home goods, and features monthly pop-up exhibitions.
