Eat the season at Rondo
A new season brings new dishes in Holborn.
Autumn might just be the best time to eat in London. It’s the season of deep flavours, golden produce and proper comfort food – when ingredients like mushrooms and beetroot really shine and all you want to eat is slow-braised meats and hearty bowls of pasta.
Rondo at The Hoxton, Holborn is making the most of the new season produce with an all-new menu that leans into everything we love about autumnal eating.
Small plates set the tone: salt beef sliders with gherkin mayo and provolone are instant crowd-pleasers, while fried oyster mushrooms with shiitake dusting and parsley ketchup bring serious crunch. Beetroot bruschetta with whipped bean curd is the perfect lunch option (plant-based or not), and seared scallops in a citrus broth offer something special, whatever the occasion.
Mains turn things up a notch. There’s 18-hour braised shin of beef with parmesan polenta (the definition of cosy), grilled lamb rump with rainbow chard and spiced jus, and wild mushroom tagliatelle with crispy Jerusalem artichoke – earthy, rich and very much worth a second glass of wine.
Finish with a lemon tart or a dark chocolate & morello cherry torte, and you’ve basically nailed autumn on a plate.
