Our story

Just like our doors, our minds are open too. Ever since we opened our first hotel, The Hoxton Shoreditch, way back in 2006, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that, providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighborhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Then there's our eclectic programme of monthly events where we bring the outside in, working with local creatives to curate events unique to each location.

Back in 2006, The Hoxton, Shoreditch in East London changed the hotel model, proving style didn’t need to be sacrificed for value and that honest pricing is still very much at the heart of everything we do. We opened our second hotel, The Hoxton, Holborn in 2014, followed by The Hoxton, Amsterdam in 2015 and Paris in 2017. Los Angeles, Chicago and Southwark are all coming soon. Whilst each hotel has its own character, no matter where we open you can be sure to find the familiar Hoxton Hustle. 

Each Hoxton hotel is individual, incorporating the uniqueness of their neighborhoods using local designers, artists, and illustrators for everything from interiors to wallpaper, art and neighborhood guides. The Hoxton, Williamsburg is on the original site of the Rosenwach factory, the maker of the iconic wooden water towers dotted along the skyline of New York City. Featuring 175 bedrooms, a vibrant public area, restaurant, terrace bar, and roof desk along with The Apartment, our events and meeting space.

The details

The role is based at The Hoxton, Williamsburg, reporting to the Director of Sales. You will be responsible for proactively executing the hotel’s Business Plan to ensure the Meetings and Events revenue goals are achieved. 

Here’s an idea of how we see the role:

  • You’ll lead the charge with all things Social Events including Weddings, Birthdays and Celebrations.
  • You’ll help set the strategy and spearhead negotiations with Food, Drink and Bedroom Block rates.
  • To ensure your clients feel the love you’ll be on hand to meet and greet them. This means your work days and hours may differ week to week. All good though, we’ll help you strike a healthy work / life balance.
  • You’re a perfectionist so checking the event space to ensure the team has set it up to your high standards is part of what you do. Each room should look on point and be fully loaded.
  • Client show arounds and entertainment are part of what you do – the best way to get that business across the line!
  • You’ll maximize revenue and increase conversion to help you achieve your personal and departmental new business and revenue goals.
  • It’s up to you to help guide the team with seasonal menu design and ensure all food and drinks items are loaded on our booking platform. You’ll need to know what the comp set offer and how Hoxton compare in the local market.
  • Check yourself (and others) with personal performance reports and quality control checks.
  • Shout about your successes! Generate and present the numbers in weekly Revenue and Strategy Meetings.
  • As a master communicator, you will help prepare and distribute BEO’s and other reports throughout the hotel.
  • Are you a control freak when it comes to organizing your emails and a chatter box on the phone? If yes, then good. That’s exactly what we’re looking for.
  • We’re in it together, so cross sell within your hotel and to our global hotel family.
  • At the end of the day, it’s all about the final guest experience. You will liaise closely with the hotel’s operations team to help them prepare incredible events that will blow our guests away.

About you...

  • You have at least 2 years’ experience in a hotel or restaurant sales role.
  • You are passionate about hotel/restaurant & bars sales and are goal-driven.
  • You function well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a challenge.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail
  • Your glass is half full, always
