Our story

Just like our doors, our minds are open too. Since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, London in 2006, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that, providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighborhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Then there's our eclectic programme of monthly events where we bring the outside in, working with local creatives to curate events unique to each location.

We proved that style didn’t need to be sacrificed for value and honest pricing is still very much at the heart of everything we do. We opened our second London hotel in 2014, followed by Amsterdam in 2015, Paris in 2017 and Williamsburg in 2018 with Portland, Los Angeles, Chicago all coming soon. Each hotel has its own character; however, you’ll find the familiar Hoxton Hustle, incorporating the uniqueness of their neighborhoods using local designers, artists, and illustrators for everything from interiors to wallpaper, art and neighborhood guides.

The Hoxton, Williamsburg is on the site of the Rosenwach factory, the maker of the iconic NYC water towers. Featuring 175 bedrooms, a vibrant public area, restaurant, terrace bar, and roof desk along with The Apartment, our events and meeting space; The Hoxton, Williamsburg will be at the center of the Williamsburg community.

We’re not really a strict job descriptions kind of place – we all roll our sleeves up and get stuck in wherever needed – but here's an idea of how we see the role...

The Group & Events Coordinator will be based at The Hoxton, Williamsburg, reporting to the Director of Sales, North America. You will be responsible for proactively executing the hotel’s Business Plan to ensure the Groups and Events revenue goals are achieved. Here’s an idea of how we see the role…

  • Get those groups and events booked in and across the line! Everything from proposals and contracting to working with the hotel operating systems.
  • Be nice to people, respond to leads quickly, and negotiate fairly.
  • As a master communicator, you will help prepare and distribute BEO’s and other reports throughout the hotel.
  • At the end of the day, it’s all about the final guest experience. You will liaise closely with the hotel’s operations team to help them prepare incredible stays and events that will blow our guests away.
  • Check yourself (and others) with personal performance reports and quality control checks.
  • Make sure our event spaces are always on point and fully loaded.
  • Shake hands and wave to children… assist with client entertainment, site tours and familiarization trips as needed.
  • We’re in it together, so cross sell within our hotel and to our global family.
  • Are you a control freak when it comes to organizing your emails and a chatter box on the phone? If yes, then good. That’s exactly what we’re looking for.
  • And of course, achieve set goals and help with the odds and ends that come up in our amazing world.

 About you...

  • You have at least 1-2 years’ experience in hotels or hospitality.
  • You are passionate about hotel sales and are goal-driven.
  • You function well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a challenge.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail.
  • You get us. You know our hotels, maybe you’ve hung out in our bars and possibly regretted that last cocktail the next morning.
  • Your glass is half full, always.
  • You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you’re doing today
  • If we get stuck in a lift with you, we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way
