Our story

Just like our doors, our minds are open too. Since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, London in 2006,  we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that, providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighbourhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Then there's our eclectic programme of monthly events where we bring the outside in, working with local creatives to curate events unique to each location.

We proved that style didn’t need to be sacrificed for value and honest pricing is still very much at the heart of everything we do. We opened our second London hotel in 2014, followed by Amsterdam in 2015, Paris in 2017 and Williamsburg in 2018 with Portland, Los Angeles, and Chicago all coming soon. Each hotel has its own character; however you’ll find the familiar Hoxton Hustle, incorporating the uniqueness of their neighbourhoods using local designers, artists, and illustrators for everything from interiors to wallpaper, art and neighbourhood guides. 

The Hoxton, Portland is situated in an iconic building with an incredible history dating back to 1906. Located in Portland’s Old Town Chinatown, The Hoxton, Portland has vibrant, welcoming public spaces providing a place where guests can hangout alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighborhood, 119 bedrooms, a lobby & rooftop restaurant and basement bar.


The details

You’ll report to the Director of Sales, the Senior Sales Manager will proactively execute the Hotel’s Sales Plan to ensure Sales Revenue Goals and Budgets are met. 

Here’s an idea of how we see the role…
 Examples of tasks included are: 

  • You’ll help develop and execute annual sales plan with the Director of Sales.
  • You’ll proactively focus on sourcing new business from the Groups, Meetings and Social Events segments.
  • Keep your ear close to the ground! Tell us what the market wants and how we keep our clients happy and coming back. Your ideas on how to adjust strategies and meet goals are key to the success of the hotel.
  • It’s all about account penetration and market share, right? Sales trips, fam trips, agent presentations – you know the drill. Those days when you entertain a different client for breakfast, lunch and dinner all in one day are REAL.
  • You’ll achieve your prospecting and revenue goals, and get those appointments booked in - it’s always quality over quantity.
  • We’re in it together, so cross sell within your hotel and to our global family.

About you

  • You have at least 2 years’ experience in a senior sales role.
  • You are passionate about Hotel sales and are goal-driven.
  • You function well in a fast-paced environment and enjoy a challenge.
  • You have excellent verbal and written communication skills as well as excellent attention to detail
  • Your glass is half full, always
  • You have the ability to learn quickly and adapt to The Hoxton’s unique culture
  • You jump out of bed every morning, fizzing with energy and jazzed about what you’re doing today
  • You are humble. There are no egos, and no drama
  • If we get stuck in a lift with you – we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way
