 We are looking for a Cultural Marketing & PR Manager, to join us here at The Hoxton, LA.

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of their neighbourhoods.  Everyone is welcome at The Hoxton, and we interact with our communities, bringing the outside in and the inside out.  As Cultural Marketing & PR Manager, you’ll be essential in bringing this ethos to life.

The Hoxton, LA will be the third Hoxton to open in North America following Williamsburg & Portland.  Set to launch in Winter 2018, you’ll be part of an opening team that helps to establish The Hoxton in Downtown LA and the brand globally in the US. Working closely with the Cultural Marketing team based in New York and London, you’ll have the autonomy and responsibility to drive a cultural and events programme that is locally relevant and inspires connections and discoveries.

It’s an exciting time to be part of The Hoxton’s expansion into North America with five US hotels in the pipeline as well as three operating European hotels.

What you’ll do

We’re not really a strict job descriptions kind of place – we all roll our sleeves up and get stuck in wherever needed – but here's an idea of how we see the role...

Events, Activations and PR:

  • Develop the LA Hoxtown event strategy to drive connection with our local neighbourhood: create and run Hoxton events (6 per month) and communications, ensuring a strong mix of events across cultural topics, and high attendance and coverage
  • Manage and further develop existing and new global hero event concepts, such as Fresh + Fit and Hox How To
  • Run and curate The Hoxton, LA’s Gallery spaces, where we collaborate and promote local, brand-relevant artists
  • Devise and implement ways to amplify key topical events in the city
  • Support the hotel’s F&B spaces with PR & Marketing activitives from curating F&B Hoxtown events to signature series, specials and takeovers.
  • Keep us fresh and innovative through creative ideas that enhance the guest experience, make best use of the shared open spaces and the like
  • Attend all events, making sure social content is captured; create other social content for Ennismore channels under guidance from the Social Media Manager
  • Work with the North American PR Director to drive and raise awareness of The Hoxton (including events and new openings) through digital, print and social media, focusing on the Dutch market
  • Invite press and influencers to experience The Hoxton, LA first hand
  • Keep on top of PR coverage and share it with the wider team
  • Actively connect to locals, creatives and contacts for our growing Hox Friends programme

Brand Partnerships & Ambassadors:

  • Propose, lead and manage a number of select brand partnerships to elevate our brand on a local, and also global, level
  • Work with Product Director on our Made in LA retail series. Suggesting local partners & products for The Hoxton to collaborate with.
  • Develop a network of local brand ambassadors across key industries

  • You get us and feel a natural affinity to The Hoxton. You already know our hotels, and have perhaps hung out in our bar and regretted that last cocktail the next morning
  • Previous programming and events experience is needed, ideally across different industries and areas
  • Culturally tapped into to all things LA, with a network of creative people and partners to work with
  • You are creatively ambitious and culturally curious; able to see ideas through from their inception to reality
  • Enthusiastic, confident and warm; you’re comfortable being out and about at events, representing The Hoxton brand
  • You want to be part of a team that works hard, supports each other and above all has fun with it along the way
