Head of PR & Communications

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Head of PR & Communications to oversee the North American expansion of The Hoxton brand. You’ll join the North American team based in Hox House, Williamsburg where you’ll work on the upcoming launch of The Hoxton, Williamsburg as well as the brands expansion into the US market. In your role you will be responsible for securing a wide range of coverage across different media, creating interesting and attractive content for all Hoxton social media channels and contributing to the internal comms strategy.

The Hoxton is a series of open-house hotels inspired by the diversity and originality of their neighbourhoods. The first Hoxton opened its doors in Shoreditch in 2006, followed by Holborn in 2014, Amsterdam in 2015 and most recently in Paris 2017. Next up we’ve got a rapid North American expansion plan, with Williamsburg, Portland, L.A and Chicago all opening in the next year. Go big, or go home…right?

About you...

  • You have at least 5 years PR experience - working in hospitality is desirable but not essential.
  • You have a black book of media contacts with whom you already have established working relationships.
  • You know how to write. Copy writing skills are essential to this role.
  • You have a passion for hospitality and a thirst for knowledge. You want to keep on learning.
  • Social media skills are essential. Even if you’ve just nailed your own profiles. We’d like to see examples.
  • You aren’t afraid to get your hands dirty. Whether it’s saving coverage or filling in a media form. You’ll live and breathe each of The Hoxton’s senior leader behaviours.
  • You get us and feel a natural affinity to The Hoxton. You already know our hotels, and have perhaps hung out in our bar and regretted that last cocktail the next morning
  • You’re approachable and know the importance of relationships, both external and internal.
