Purpose                 The Finance Manager will assist the London-based Finance team with the establishment of our North American operation. You will ensure that we meet compliance and regulatory standards, monitor and manage accounts, and oversee financial reporting for our North American office. Additionally, you will assist in ensuring that our current systems and processes meet group requirements but are adjusted appropriately for the US business and in support of our forecasted growth.


You will report directly to the Ennismore Finance Director in London and locally to the Director of North America. The role will be based at Hox House NYC.


The Details            You’ll be responsible for setting up the EIUSA Finance operation, based at Hox House NYC located in Williamsburg, Brooklyn and oversee the day to day finance activities.

Examples of responsibilities and tasks include:

  • Playing a lead role in implementing our North American finance related systems, policies and procedures
  • Delivering financial reporting for the North American business, including preparation and / or review of accurate consolidated monthly, quarterly and annual accounts in a timely manner including posting journals, accruals and other adjustments as required
  • Providing assistance to group at a local level for year end company and group audits
  • Producing and updating the 12 month rolling cash flow forecast for EIUSA on a monthly basis
  • Implementing the group financial controls policy, with localization as required, and ensure it is adhered to
  • Identifying and implementing process improvements to enhance the efficiency and accuracy of financial reporting and other related processes
  • Playing a key role in assisting with financial planning and budgeting processes for the business units and budgeting for new projects
  • In partnership with the development team, managing the Hox House NYC fit out budget
  • Ensuring transactional activities, including entry, approval and payment of supplier invoices and payroll processing and payment occurs accurately and on time
  • Tracking and managing company contracts and policies, including working with the business to ensure proper bidding processes are in place for new vendors and contracts
  • Partnering with all departments to ensure any finance related training gaps are addressed
  • Assist with any additional duties that may be required other than the above and any ad-hoc projects as assigned

About You

  • You must be technically skilled, preferably have a strong understanding of best practice hotel operations, finance function set up and standard systems, i.e. PMS systems, reservations systems etc
  • Understand group corporate structures, and have a strong grasp of local statutory compliance and regulatory requirements
  • Experience of working in a self-accounting hotel, and preferably reporting into a head office, with demonstrated experience of managing a team independent of head office oversight when required
  • You can take ownership of important issues, solve problems and make effective decisions
  • Methodical and process-driven approach to tasks, but also able to work flexibly and calmly to meet deadlines
  • Experience of hotel openings is very strongly preferred
  • Ability to work positively and collaboratively to achieve the highest standards of delivery at work
