Receptionist/Office Assistant (Part or Full Time)

The Hoxton, Hox House London

We’re looking for a Hox House Host (say that three times fast) to join our team and be our go to person for the office. Whether it’s dealing with visitors, handling meeting rooms or setting up our weekly drinks, everyone can rely on you to make sure things go off without a hitch. We’re open to full time or part-time if job sharing takes your fancy.

You’ll be based at Hox House (our version of “Head Office”) in Clerkenwell and report to the Founder & CEO’s PA, who’s based over at our other HQ, Ennismore Sessions House – a mere 200m stroll away.

We all get stuck in around here and don’t tend towards strict job descriptions, but here’s a bit more detail on what we see you doing:

  • You’re our gatekeeper. Visitors coming and going, calls to be connected, couriers delivering and picking up, meeting room logistics…you know what goes where, who’s who and what’s what
  • Feel Good Friday drinks, Pre-Pay Day lunch? That’s your domain. You'll help arrange the regular events that everyone looks forward to.
  • Be house proud. The front space is yours, you’ll coordinate the cleaners and maintenance teams to ensure everything is spic and span.
  • With a little help from our dear landlords and suppliers you’ll ensure everything is in working order and complies with all Health & Safety and Fire Regulations.
  • You get things (including us!) from A2B. Post, couriers and taxis that’s all you!
  • And yes there’s a little admin...Some expenses, some lists and a stationary order or two. You might also cameo as a travel agent and lend a hand to our senior and people team from time to time
  • Tech? No issue. You know your HDMI from your USB and your Mac from a PC. Or, if you’re a technophobe (like some of us!) you’re willing to sink your teeth in and learn the ropes.

The kind of person we’re looking for…

  • You’ll have at least 1 years’ experience working in an administrative role.
  • You are scarily organised, think on your feet and in moments of calm you always find something to do!
  • You get involved and get shit done.
  • You’re all about making connections with people, you’re that warm, sociable person everyone likes to talk to. 
  • You’re not precious, we all leave our egos at the door. If we get stuck in a lift with you – we’ll get along nicely and have a laugh along the way!
