Our story

Just like our doors, our minds are open too. Since we opened our first hotel in Shoreditch, London in 2006, we’ve never just been about offering a bed for the night. We want to be more than that, providing a place where guests can hang out alongside the locals and submerse themselves in the neighborhood with vibrant, welcoming public spaces. Then there's our eclectic program of monthly events where we bring the outside in, working with local creatives to curate events unique to each location.


We proved that style didn’t need to be sacrificed for value and honest pricing is still very much at the heart of everything we do. We opened our second London hotel in 2014, followed by Amsterdam in 2015, Paris in 2017, Williamsburg and Portland in 2018 with Los Angeles, and Chicago coming soon. Each hotel has its own character; however, you’ll find the familiar Hoxton Hustle, incorporating the uniqueness of their neighborhoods using local designers, artists, and illustrators for everything from interiors to wallpaper, art and neighborhood guides.


The Hoxton, Chicago will be our third hotel in North America, located in the Fulton Market district, an area that is fast evolving and buzzing with a whole host of new stores, inspiring start-ups, swishy global HQs and an exciting bar and restaurants scene to match. It’s where you want to be in Chi-Town.


The hotel will have 182 bedrooms spread over seven floors, along with a lively open-door lobby, three restaurants and bars, a rooftop swimming pool with views across the city, a retail pop-up, and The Apartment, our unique meetings and events space. Add to all that our two floors of office space for those who are more work than play.

The details

The role will initially be based at a pre-opening office, then moving to The Hoxton, Chicago.  You’ll report directly to the Director of Sales.

You’ll be responsible for the operations of The Hoxton, Chicago; leading the Front Office, Housekeeping and Engineering teams, and with a close working relationship with the Restaurants & Bars team.  In its initial phase, this will involve pre-opening activities, and following the opening, responsibility for the day to day operations of the hotel.

Here’s an idea of how we see the role…

  • Achieve all personal appointment, client entertainment, sales trip and cold call targets.
  • Achieve monthly revenue targets and account management objectives.
  • Produce an annual Sales Activity Plan in conjunction with the Director of Sales.
  • Support the budgeting, strategy and pricing process.
  • Manage and convert key business and set regular conversion days.
  • Work closely with the reactive meeting and group reservation team to aid conversion and help develop phone negotiation and selling skills.
  • Meet and Greet in-house key clients and guests to build relationships and probe for future business.
  • Ensure the hotels CRM is updated and well maintained.
  • Deliver excellent customer service within all areas of the business and cultivate a sales culture within the operations team.
  • Work with European team to develop business and relationships and cross-sell sister hotels.
  • Increase conversion rate of enquiries to confirmed business and track results.
  • Attend trade shows and travel fairs where needed.
  • Attend and present sales related results at weekly Revenue Meetings.
  • Achieve 90% or more in file audits.
  • Complete and send weekly and monthly reports to the Director of Sales and General Manager.
  • Manage a portfolio of existing of accounts and agencies and define Account Development Plans to grow market share.

  • Your glass is half full, always.
  • You have at least 2 years’ sales experience at manager level in a Chicago hotel
  • You execute. You get things done
