PR & Brand Assistant

The Hoxton, Amsterdam

We are currently recruiting for a PR & Brand Assistant to join us here at The Hoxton, Amsterdam. 

You will be the frontline ambassador of The Hoxton, the guardian of the brand’s presence and exposure on the local cultural radar. Reporting to our Brand Manager you will be responsible for elevating the buzz around the hotel, helping to drive and raise awareness of what we do. You’ll monitor the exposure and coverage of the hotel and develop long-lasting relationships with press and media. You’ll be the first point of contact for all things press and social media on property, ensuring you capture that perfect bedroom shot and making sure all the activations are being picked up on by the locals and the guests.

We don’t go in for strict job descriptions, we all like to muck in, however here’s an idea of how we see the role:

What you’ll do…

  • Together with our Brand Manager, you will be responsible for driving excitement and awareness around the property.
  • Support the Brand and PR Manager to drive successful activations and PR coverage.
  • Book press and influencers in for review stays and meals, photoshoot requests and keep an up-to-date log.
  • Keep track of all PR coverage.
  • Support the Social Media Manager with content creation and feed planning, with progression to manage and own channels.
  • Politely and respectfully handle guest queries and issues that come through social media, and ensure they are dealt with by passing on to the relevant site managers.
  • Support the social media team with creating content that adds credibility and drives advocacy on The Hoxton and Lotti’s channels.
  • Support with reporting (monthly social reports, campaign tracking, event round-ups etc…)
  • Support with hosting and planning activations and events from concept to completion

  • A social butterfly who has a strong track record in building strategic relationships and delivering business results. You’re clued up on the value of well-maintained influencer relations and know the best magazines and websites out there.
  • A team player who has an understanding of the various hotel departments producing brand activations that align with business and brand goals and who can carry out a communication plan to support them.
  • A doer who can host our cultural programme of events, activations, installations, performances that root us in local creative communities across art, fashion, music etc.
  • Someone with a personal network of strong contacts within a variety of industries for future partnerships for The Hoxton.
  • A conceptual, out-of-the-box thinker who inspires others; we’re up for doing things differently and trying (almost) everything once.
  • A sense of individuality. You’re looking for a place where you can be you; no clones in suits for us.
  • You make things happen. You’re not precious; we all leave our egos at the door and help get shit done.
  • You’re all about having a positive impact on the people you interact with, leaving them with a memorable experience
