The Hoxton Gallery: Patrick Tilley

Patrick Tilley wasn’t just one of the top graphic designers of the 1960’s, he was also a well known science-fiction author and screen-writer. Based just around the corner from The Hoxton, Holborn, Tilley was commissioned to create a series of posters for The Sunday Times to sell the idea that reading the paper made you more interesting, not just by knowing what was going on, but being a part of it. His simple one-word posters with paper cut-outs and bright colours are award-winning and still iconic today.

We’ve brought Tilley’s work in to our gallery space to showcase the best of what the local area has to offer, check out his works here until Feb.
